New system capable of identifying DNA sequences

For years, groups of experts have been investigating the use and applications of nanoscale pores. In theory, these pores must generate a unique response from each of the four nucleotide bases in DNA as a piece moves through these pores.

Now scientists and researchers from Oxford nanopore Technology, based in the United Kingdom have been successfully designing and testing a new system which is able to identify a piece of DNA through a modified protein.

According to experts discussed, with a little more progress in this area may be reduced in not much, the cost in equipment, chemicals and timing devices among others, leaving behind conventional screening methods currently commented Gordon Sanghera said, Ph.D., CEO of Oxford.

“You move with the times of the day to get the same information, and the equipment required is much simpler,” said Dr. Sanghera.
