Aspirin to protect the colon from the tumor

A British research has revealed that the normal daily dose of aspirin taken to prevent cardiovascular problems, reduces the appearance of 24% of colon cancer.

A study by the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and directed by Peter Rothwell has shown that administration of low doses of aspirin reduce the occurrence of colon cancer. The study was conducted on some 14,000 volunteers, then divided on Vati groups based on whether or not that would take the daily dose of aspirin for cardiovascular prevention.

It was discovered that administration of a quarter of a dose needed for headache, not only protects the heart by preventing heart attacks and strokes, but reduced by about one quarter the risk of colon cancer and the risk of death from this form of tumor.

For some of those during the period in which they were kept under control, about 20 years, was diagnosed with colon cancer and those taking aspirin showed a 24% reduced risk of illness and risk of death 35% lower. The study by British researchers was published in the journal Lancet.
