Artificial muscles based on Nanotechnology
|
Who would think that today we were able to build structures as complex as a function of the muscles biological , incredibly enough , this has become a reality, American researchers at the University of Texas, published a Article in Science they describe the development of artificial muscles Based on Carbon Nanotubes, with properties that mimic the muscle not only biological. But far exceed what , who would be able to contract and relax more than twice its size, in a very short time (milliseconds ), also are stronger than steel and harder than diamond, capable of supporting a wide range of temperatures ( between – 200 º C and 1540 º C).
These properties are achieved thanks to Nanotechnology, Through fiber Carbon Nanotubes. Many applications such as artificial tissue for implantation in the human body , Prosthesis for members, and muscles for movement of Robots. As we can see, those movies were so wrong of the past , which showed people with superhuman abilities performing incredible feats in the not too distant future this will become a reality , thanks to nanotechnology muscles . |
